About

I have been doing this for fifteen years.
The surfaces changed. The work did not.

Most companies I talk to have the same problem. Their rankings are fine. Their pipeline is not.

Nothing looks broken in the reporting, because the reporting only watches one place. A page can hold position one and never appear in the answer above it. Buyers read that answer first, decide who is worth considering, and often never scroll.

That gap is where the work is now.

    The position

SEO did not end. It got wider.

There is a lot of noise right now about SEO being finished and generative engine optimization replacing it. I do not think that is true, and I would rather say so plainly than sell you a new acronym.

Answer engine optimization and generative engine optimization are narrower practices that sit inside search. They are additive.

The underlying job has not moved: build content that the right person finds when they go looking, and make sure the machines reading it understand what it says. What changed is where the finding happens, and how many surfaces you have to watch to know whether it is working.

I added measurement for the new surfaces because the surfaces are new. I did not start over, and I would be careful with anyone who tells you they did.

    How the work runs

Measured against data you already own.

    1. Your Search Console, not an estimate

Search performance comes from your own property, filtered to the pages and dates in question. Not an estimating tool, not a third-party approximation of your traffic. Retrievable by you at any point.

    2. AI visibility measured separately

Which prompts return your brand. Which of your pages get quoted. Which competitors show up in the answers where you do not. Different questions from where you rank, and the answers are frequently different too.

    3. What the numbers do not say

Every engagement has results that cannot be cleanly attributed, and work that did not land. I write those down. That part costs me something to publish. I think it is the only version worth trusting.

    Fit

    Who this is for.

    Agencies

You want to offer AI visibility without building the measurement yourself. You keep the client relationship and the brand. I do the work behind it.

    Companies

Your organic numbers look stable while inbound gets quieter. Usually the answer is on a surface nobody has measured yet.

Where the work has been done

    • Technical and enterprise software
    • Fintech and financial services
    • Ecommerce and consumer brands
    • Healthcare and clinical practices
    • Professional services
    • Local and destination operators

If you are looking for the cheapest option, or for someone who will tell you every number went up, I am not a fit and I would rather say that now.

Before anyone proposes anything, I run the read: what you rank for, what AI quotes, and where the gap is. On your own verified data.
